Marvin Ventrell, JD

Marvin Ventrell is the Director of Community & Alumni Relations at Harmony Foundation and he serves on Harmony’s Executive Leadership Team. Harmony, founded in 1969, is Colorado’s largest and longest running residential treatment center, in Estes Park, CO. Harmony offers comprehensive, medical, psychological, and rehabilitation services for individuals suffering from the diseases of alcohol and drug addiction. Mr. Ventrell oversees Harmony’s communications, public education, marketing, and alumni service programs.

Prior to joining the Harmony staff in 2012, Mr. Ventrell was an attorney in Denver, CO and from 1994 – 2009 he served as CEO of the National Association of Counsel for Children where he achieved national acclaim for his work on behalf of at risk children and families. He is Chair of the Board of the Juvenile Law Society. Mr. Ventrell is the author of dozens of professional journal articles, book chapters, and two books on law, the family, and the creation and management of social service systems. He has lectured in dozens of universities nationally and internationally and has served as a consultant and trainer for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He is a recipient of the ABA National Child Advocacy Award and the University of Colorado Kempe Award. He was named Bar Fellow Emeritus of the Colorado Bar Foundation in 2012.
